Well the conference was amazing. The people even better and the town of San Fran was an interesting experience lol but one I would repeat!!
The plane trips on the other hand, I could do without. What ever happened to the good old Doctor Who Transmat? Step on a machine and next thing you know you are reconstituting on the moon. Of course back then some of your parts might be missing or the Master might try to use you to get at the Doc. But still, no 13.5 hours of travelling lol.
Am I showing my sci fi here? Whoops let me tuck it back in… There you go we’re all safe now
But I will say the trip home to Australia was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We get to the airport and they upgraded us to BUSINESS. Actually let me say that again… BUSINESS. Lol, it feels so good when I say that. Let me say that it’s the only way to fly. The food was amazing, the staff lovely and the SEATS OMG. The only thing better would have been first class. But you can’t get everything you want in this world lol.
BTW did I show you pikkies of our very messy room lol and the hotel? Here you go…
Okay so you can’t see much but it looked lovely!!
UMMMM this is NOT my bed. I swear… Do you believe me???????

The conference started with a bang with the literacy signing. OMG there were so many people I couldn’t believe it. We stood in line for what felt like forever to actually get inside and then morrrrrrrre waiting to get to see Sherrilyn Kenyon. But while we were waiting…
LOL. While we were waiting mum started gossiping with the person next to her who just turned out to be a model hired for the night. YUMMO!!!! Of course she just has to take a pikkie with her daughter and the model, squeeee. God love mum’s

Of course me being the bad traveller I am had to take off without any autograph’s because I felt like I was about to christen the floor. Can’t take me anywhere lol.
The conference started the next day and whoa talk about exhausted by the end of it. There were so many people, editors, readers, writers and soooo many books. And the amazing people I met in the line!!! Not to mention outside where everyone smokes. AMY FETZER YOU ROCK LOL.
I also talked to some fantastic writers and editors. And it was special to finally meet up with my online groups. So thank you YARWA for making the conference for me!!

I met up with Theresa Stevens(Executive Editor from Red Sage) , Alexis Fleming from Australia(mum), Sara Hantz from New Zealand, Lyn Cash from Kansas (Aunty Sun).
That’s all now. I will have one more post about the conference. Until then same Kelly time, same Kelly channel lol…

A few of us girls got to together and decided to sightsee before the conf started. We chose one of those hop on hop off buses. And it was really fun. It was a red double decker bus and the top level had no roof so it was great to breathe in the fog and smog of San Fran lol. Actually it was really great to be on the top and take photos.
We saw the cutest little trams and had a look at Union square. Mum of course made me do the obligatory memorial photo lol.

So cute!!! Although Melbourne has trams too

Okay not the best shot but you can get the idea. By the way could you tell it was cold lol.
Next we headed off to Chinatown and heaps of amazing places, but the part we loved the best was Fishermans wharf.
I’ve never been near a Hard Rock Cafe before..I went Fan girl *Blush* And I loved the Carousel they had there too. I really wanted to ride but sigghhhhh. Mum said no. Mannnnnnn lol.

The best bits were probably the seals and getting a look at Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. You can see that fog starting to roll in. Honestly the most amazing sight I have ever seen. It looked like the sky was boling or on fast forward, truly a sight not to miss!

Well that’s my installment for now. More next time on the actual conference.
Cheers all!

Well, we arrived… finally in San Fran.
Crippled and exhausted of course. The plane ride resembled a descent into hell and the customer service was about on the same level. But hey at least it didn’t crash
Speaking of crashes I thought our taxi driver would do us in. OMG talk about swerving, road rage and verry fast driving. I think we were lucky to escape with our lives.
Then we thankfully made it to the hotel. We were so pleased to finally check in and sleep. Sadly that didn’t happen! There had been an underground explosion so power had been kncoked out for our hotel and the surrounding five blocks. Yippee. So we get there at eleven in the morning and couldn’t check in. Add to that there no power, no lights, airconditioning or flushable toilets…AHHHH the joy of travelling!
AT 2.30 we managed to make it to the room and at 5.00pm we finally were able to flush the toilet. YAY!!
But it got better from there. After a snooze we had a look around the hotel, which was lovely, and had a chat to the guys out front. And let me tell you their uniform looks great!!

Mum and her men lol.
The day after we arrived our roommate Lyn Cash turned up and she is always a hoot!!!
But that’s this installment done, more next time.
Kisses to all!

Hey all.
As you can see I didn’t blog in San Fran. Okay my bad
I really had great intentions… But it didn’t happen so here is a loose account of my times in San Francisco
I jetted into Sydney and mum shuttled up and we spent a night in a hotel before flying out.

Me being my charming self.
Of course just after this I actually looked out the window and realised where our hotel was!!!!

Needless to say Krispy Kreme was dinner lol. Shush, don’t tell anyone!!
The airport was a bit of a nightmare. We’d forgotton all about all the pilgrims heading home after World Youth Day… can you say madhouse lol.

But we eventually got on the plane and boy did we regret it!! Small, cramped and lOOOOOOOOOOONG hours. 13.5 to be exact. We were crippled and exhausted by the time we got off the plane!!
But that is the next installment. So stay tuned for the saga of Alexis Fleming and Kelly Ethan…

Hi all.
I am almost back from the land of no time and no peace lol. Joking aside, holidays are almost over, two days left and number one son is happily watching his POWER RANGERS. He is obsessed with them. So much so I went out and bought a whole 15 seasons lol. Thank god now I have peace
Typical boy, loves the fight scenes and the colourful superhero costumes!!!
It’s been a quiet hols. It’s rained on and off a bit. So there has been lots of craft. Once it was dry, we’ve had nature walks and feeding of ducks and turtles and the best bit for my son……
KUNGFU PANDA
We went the movies and you have never seen a little boy sooo excited. He literally could not keep still. Drove me mental
But he loved the movie and you know what? So did I. It’s a movie that’s on my to be bought list down the track!
Okay that’s all. More goss later when I have another spare two minutes.

Just a check in with you all.
Its school holidays here, so time to myself is few and far between lol. Any writing has to be done at night or in quick snatches on my laptop. So I’m feeling the frustrated author thing at the moment. But we are three days in and it is NOT the horrific experience I was expecting from other holidays. It’s actually been peaceful and kind of fun. So YAY for me
We are heading out to see Kung Fu Panda this week and my five year old is waiting with bated breath. In other words he is being painfully nice so he gets to go lol. Ain’t blackmail GREAT!!!
Anyway will check back in a couple of days.
Ciao all

I was just wondering today as I ponder the frozen screen of my PDA Phone. How much of our life is lived through technology.
Yes, this seems like a weird blog for me. But the level of anxiety I felt as my phone froze for three hours and I couldn’t get hold of a techie to help me was HUGE. I freaked, I swore, I cried *blush* but literally my whole life is on it. Emails, phone numbers, adresses, story ideas, photos… everything.
I realsied that, wow, if it were to break and the sim unrecoverable I would lose ALOT of info. So maybe the answer here is to back up…
What did that famous writer once say…
To backup or not to back up that is the question.
PS, I finally got it to work now I am madly syncing with my computer so I don’t lose any of the data.
Thank god!!!

Hey all.
Things have been relatively normal here in the
land of
Kelly Ethan. Frantically editing my book and critting for Alexis Fleming. And now I’ve started planning another YA novel.
I’ve stopped hacking up fur balls and thankfully no longer sound like a man J
FANTASTIC BOOK ALERT
Christina Dodd’s…Scent of Darkness. Could NOT put it down. So after you’ve all finished buying my books lol. Go forth and buy hers…
Great read!!
BEST MOVIE
Okay I will admit to playing hookie yesterday, Instead of writing and editing like a demon I went to the movies…YAY. I watched the best movie I think I’ve seen this year. PRINCE CASPIAN. The second in the Narnia movies. LOOOOVED it. Want to buy it on DVD when it’s out. Not to mention the guys in it. Phoarrr. They are a tad young for me but still lovely to look at!!!
Do yourself a favour and indulge the senses, see this movie!!!
